About Us

OUR STORY

Our story begins in 2007 with our founder, Dwayne Good, commencing his career in the travel industry. Over the next seven years Dwayne worked for some of Australia’s best known travel management brands, but increasingly he was seeing an absence in the market for personalised service. In 2014 Dwayne set about addressing that with the creation of InTravel Group, founded on the principle clients should be valued and appreciated and not just be a number on a spreadsheet.

Dwayne had an additional motivation for establishing the business. His Aboriginal heritage had made him very aware the travel industry had low participation levels of Indigenous Australians, and he sought to change that.

A significant milestone in our journey was becoming Australia’s first 100% Aboriginal-owned, Supply Nation Certified corporate travel provider. Supply Nation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to growing the Indigenous business sector by promoting supplier diversity in Australia. Many years later, InTravel proudly remains the only fully Certified Supply Nation corporate travel business that is 100% Aboriginal-owned in Australia. You can learn more about Supply Nation here – www.supplynation.org.au

Since those early days InTravel has become more diverse as it has grown. Not only in the industry sectors it serves, but geographically with clients across Australia, being looked after by staff located around the country too.

Now in their 10th year of business InTravel Group is all grown up.  Dwayne remains actively involved in the business and maintains a vision for InTravel to stand apart with a business known for its success in the mid-market and its industry leading contribution to the employment and career development of Indigenous Australians.

A word from our Founder

Over the years I have seen businesses approach Indigenous procurement with a sense of uncertainty. Will the service be different? Am I more obligated in the contract? I know I should do it, but could it be risky? These are all understandable questions as corporate Australia works to set their Reconciliation Action Plans into motion – it is new territory.

So as the director of a 100% Indigenous owned business let me assure you of this. First and foremost we have to be capable in what we do, and how we go about it. In our case that’s the fundamental task of managing corporate travel programs efficiently and effectively for our clients. If we can’t do that, nothing else matters.

But once that is satisfied and you are working with a certified Supply Nations business, you should know that you are contributing to social return through the creation of Indigenous training and employment which helps improve the lives of Indigenous Australians.

Dwayne Good

Dwayne is a Bundjulang man from northern NSW who has been a strong advocate for the development of Indigenuous owned businesses in our economy. This has seen him hold a number of Board positions on Indigenous Chambers of Commerce in Victoria and South East Queensland. He also sat on Supply Nation’s Indigenous Advisory Board for many years. These experiences see him as a regular speaker at business events.

The Spirit of InTravel Group

In the heart of the ancient Bundjalung lands, the legend of Mibin, the majestic eagle totem, has been passed down through generations. The elders tell of a time when Mibin guided the Bundjalung through perilous times, soaring high above to provide guidance and strength.

This revered totem remains a profound emblem of vigilance, resilience, and the enduring connection between the Bundjalung people and their land.

The Bundjalung people often looked to Mibin as a symbol of growth and strength. They saw in him the embodiment of their own journey – like our own founder a Bundjalung man, evolving from humble beginnings to achieving greatness through perseverance, knowledge, and experience. Mibin’s majestic flights across the sky became a metaphor for our business, which had grown from a small, hopeful venture into an industry leader.

Not only is  Mibin a connection to our Founders culture and homelands, Mibin a true reflection of who we are as a brand.
